  Overleden: Ramona Gene Schaecher November 19, 1931 - June 4, 2015 Born the eldest of 3 children to Lawrence and Elinor Hassing Mt. Angel, OR. Married to William T. Schaecher. She told her friends that she wanted to have 10 children. She did that, and then some. Through the years in Mt Angel, Mona loved to dance, so she taught Tap Dancing to many of the towns children. Her lessons included love and guidance for each child. In 1970, Mona and the kids moved to Salem. Struggling to make a go of it on her own, the kids brought her more strength. Her compassion made her the right person to work in the Welfare office helping those less fortunate than herself. She met a very nice man that brought new joy into her life. Ed Windschigl, whom had 2 children, brought the number of children to an even dozen. With the 12 children there are 24 grandchildren & 18 great-grandchildren. Survivors include sister Darlene Smith, children Janet (Don) Huckeby, Mike (Marilyn) Schaecher, Jerry (Marcia) Schaecher, Don (Sue) Schaecher, Julie (Tim) Jenks, Joe (Kathy) Schaecher, Laura (Dave) Snook, Beth (Sam) Kribs, Sandy Schaecher-Stuckart, MonaHatch, Terry (Karen) Windschigl. Mona was preceded in death by her son Stevie, both Bill and Ed, and her brother Larry. Memorial service and reception will be held at 11:00 AM on June 20, 2015 at Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service, 605 Commercial St. SE in Salem with private family burial at Calvary Cemetery in Mt. Angel. www.legacy.com
