- Joseph, son of George J and Elizabeth, is born in 1878 (1880 and 1900 census, Minnesota death index). In the 1920 Census there is a Joseph born in 1888 and according to the 1930 census this same person is born in 1882 and married in 1913. What census information is correct? Is this one and the same person?
Yes, I believe it is, because:
Joseph lives with his family at the same address as George J and Elizabeth (1920 and 1930 Census)
His parents are born in Germany and Posen (today Poznan - Poland), like George J and Elizabeth are (1920 Census)
In both the 1920 and the 1930 census Joseph two of his sons are named Lawrence and Nicholas P.
If this hypothesis is correct, then one question still stands. Why are the birthdates so different?
